Sentence And Its Types In English Grammar

We use language to exchange messages with others. Every language provides the usage of a collection of words to communicate. Such collection of words that communicate a complete message is known as a sentences.

In English, it begins with a Capital Letter and ends with a Full-Stop, or a Question Mark, or an Exclamation Mark.

For Example:

She is a good girl. (statement), 
Is she a good girl? (question), 
What a nice car! (exclaiming).


In a sentence we can mention any person or object and provide a description.


 Type of Sentences - वाक्य के प्रकार

1. Declarative (डिक्लेरेटिव)  या Assertive (ऐसरटिव)

2. Interrogative (इन्टैरोगेटिव)

3. Imperative (इन्पैरेटिव)

4. Exclamatory (ऐक्सक्लेमेटरी)


1. Declarative (डिक्लेरेटिव)  या Assertive (ऐसरटिव)

Sentence used to describe something or express an opinion/feeling, or makes a statement are known as declarative or assertive sentences. 

This type of sentence ends with a period (i.e., a full-stop). 
 
For Example :- 

I want to be a good father. (a statement)
I am very happy today. (a feeling)
