Sentences And Its Types

                      Sentence - वाक्य

We use language to exchange messages with others. Every language provides the usage of a collection of words to communicate. Such collection of words that communicate a 
complete message is known as a sentences.

In English, it begins with a Capital Letter and ends with a Full-Stop, or a Question Mark, or an Exclamation Mark.

For Example:

She is a good girl. (statement), 
Is she a good girl? (question), 
What a nice car! (exclaiming).


In a sentence we can mention any person or object and provide a description.

           
 Type of Sentences - वाक्य के प्रकार

1. Declarative (डिक्लेरेटिव) या Assertive (ऐसरटिव)

2. Interrogative (इन्टैरोगेटिव)

3. Imperative (इन्पैरेटिव)

4. Exclamatory (ऐक्सक्लेमेटरी)

1. Declarative (डिक्लेरेटिव)  या Assertive (ऐसरटिव)

Sentence used to describe something or express an opinion/feeling, or makes a statement are known as declarative or assertive sentences. 

This type of sentence ends with a period (i.e., a full-stop). 
 
For Example :- 

I want to be a good father. (a statement)
I am very happy today. (a feeling) 


    2. Interrogative Sentence

Sentence enquire about something or ask a question are known as interrogative sentences.

An interrogative sentence are also called a question. This type of sentences are used to make an enquiry.

While writing Questions are ended with a question mark(?)

For Example:-

What is your name?
Have you done your homework?
    
 

     3. Imperative Sentence
    
Sentence used to command or request to do something is imperative sentences. 

This type of sentence is used to tell some one to do something. It could be either a request or a command. 

For Example:-

Please come home before sunset.
    
Complete your homework now.
 
The first sentence shown above is an example of a request, While the second is a command. 
In both cases the speaker is asking someone to do something.


* Imperative sentences usually end with a period 
(i.e., a full stop), but under certain circumstances, it can end with a note of exclamation (i.e., exclamation mark).


For Example:-
     
I need you to sit down now! 
 


   4. Exclamatory Sentence
    
The group of words used to express the sentiments when you suddenly receive a good 
or a bad news (emotions can be of happiness, wonder, sorrow, anger, etc.). Such sentences are refered to as Exclamatory Sentences. 

At the time of writing are ended with an exclamation mark (!). 


For Examples:

What a day it was!
 We won!
